Lady Death is sometimes a protagonist and sometimes an antagonist in Brian Pulido's Chaos! comics. In her original incarnation, her name was Hope, and her father was a spell-user. When their village discovered this, he managed to escape, but she was captured and was to be burned at the stake. Having overheard one of her father's incantations, she recited it, bringing a demon into the world. The demon offered to save her, but the catch was she had to renounce her humanity and accompany him to hell.
Over the course of time the underworld corrupted her, and she became known as Lady Death. She managed to take control of the infernal domain from Lucifer himself and her mission now is to eradicate all life on the planet.
